Oddities Now

The Last time I saw one of these, was in the back area between the public restrooms at Borders Books. Remember Borders? That could be an, Oddity Now entry as well.

The payphone at Border was a working payphone, unlike this one located outside of a local supermarket. Sometimes it would ring, but none of us booksellers cared enough to answer it. Perhaps if we had, we'd have been jacked-out of the Matrix and into the sunless, so-called, Real World, ruled by soulless machines.

Since the payphone is slowly going the way of the newspaper, physical media, and opposing viewpoints, I think I'll do my part and try and spot and catalog every one that I see--sort of a Where's Waldo for fading technology.

Hey, who remembers Where's Waldo?
