Fire and Brimstone

 

Chapter 1 - Charlotte

Her stage-name was Charlotte Russe, named after the French trifle. She chose the name because it was funny and the director of her first film had about as much culinary knowledge as a pastry bag of Reddi Whip.

 

Chapter 2 - Brim

Brim settled into the chair of the cockpit and let all the air escape his body. The stink of whiskey still lingered on his breath from the night before. He had a headache—but that was nothing new. Lately his head had been a constant thrum of pain of one sort or another. The reasons varied from moment to moment but the pain remained the same. Tonight the reason was an encroaching hangover. He pawed for his flask. Where was it? He had to get ahead of this shit.

 

Chapter 3 - The Bus Stop

Charlotte borrowed a business suit from her dead roommate’s closet. Working for the Industry had not required her to own such formal attire—although there had been this one film where she had played the role of a secretary…
